THE COUVE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
This Engagement Session was a VERY last-minute shoot. By that I mean that it was set up and scheduled for the very same day! It was one of those days that it started snowing so on my way into the studio I thought that it would be fun set up a couple shoots as it looked like the snow was going to stick. When I got to the office, I sent out a email blast that said something along the lines of “Whoever is up for a Winter Wonderland shoot this afternoon then get in touch.” I really didn’t expect many people to respond being so last-minute, but Lisa and Cameron were game and would be ready within a few hours. Yay, here we go!
I was determined on making this a fun shoot, despite it being a very cold and windy day!
I hadn’t met Lisa or Cameron at this point so we were meeting for the first time. They are a very nice couple who were lots of fun and they were game for just about anything. Again, we went out with not much of plan but ended up with a number of great shots. The goal was to get imagery with snow on the ground but by the time we got out there, all the show was pretty much melted and not sticking anymore. The goal quickly switched to making sure that we captured the look of Winter by playing with the White Balance in the camera and ensuring that we were lighting the snow as it was falling.
By the end of the shoot we were all very cold, wet, and ready to get into a warm room. I’d like to give Lisa and Cameron a HUGE thanks for taking me up on my crazy idea! They were both troopers for enduring the snow, slush, cold winds, and near-freezing temperatures!! At the end of the day, we got some great shots and I’m really happy with how they turned out.
